Holy shit... l can say that again 3 times for 3 reasons...
firstly its been a FRIGGIN long time since a human came back to this blog...it looks like its almost abandoned and forgotten...
secondly this is the FIRST time lm actually posting up something...not that l never intend to do but l guess theres a first...
thirdly and most importantly, holy shit refers to our PROGRESS!! Its already second week of feb and we hvnt start animating!! Shit shit shit...what are gonna do...? I was thinking we should have a schedule. Yea we all said we will have one but it seems like all of us are going on our own pace and thats no good. Since we are gonna shoot the vid refs and the aniamtic are gonna be refine asap we have to layout a timetable to when we have to finish getting the vid ref, finalize the modeling and texturing for all props and characters and then the animation. From blocking all the way to final. The comes compositing. Crud...typing out this even scares the shit out of me...
Therefore,l suggest we have a schedule which we follow it no matter what. Those who fail to do so will have to get a weggie!!...Nah just shitting ya. But really, if there is one we really gotta follow it real good. Just thought a schedule will help us to make sure we dont take too much time just like how we are doing now and to make sure the process goes smooth. What say you guys? We can call this the last run schedule...and the only...
Hope y'all get to read this soon. If you are reading this welcome back to the blog. The loud chick misses you very much. Haha.

Hello, here are some useful Maya tutorials:
Realistic eye modeling/texturing/rendering (the top 4 links)video tutorial.
however, i think only 1 person needs to model an eye and share the file, just change eye colour for each of our characters.
the basic idea, but can make changes to the shader network to make it look more interesting
There are 3 different techniques used in this tutorial, all effective. The most simple one is the Mia material which is practically just 1 button's click.

OK people, time to quicken our working pace. We need to stick to our schedule eventhough I know most of you are thinking there's no lecturer to hand in the work to, so you can relax. But seriously, if you don't want to end up spending an additional 1/2 year on the final project, you have to change your work attitude and be serious about doing your best in a good amount of time.
The dateline is set like this, if you don't know or have forgotten:
26th September (this Saturday)- finish all modeling. No extra allowance.
9th October(2 weeks from now)- finish all texturing and rigging.
After that, we want to straight ahead proceed to animation testing and the actual animation.
Also, pass your modeled characters to Terence ASAP. And no excuses like lost thumbdrives. Do what needs to be done whatever way required.
Remember that by right the deadline for this project is the end of this term, and don't be lenient with yourself.

For Naj.
here's the character sheets for the postman and the poltergeist. I'll have more later on.Please redraw all neatly in your style and do the final paintings (for the characters) with texture
Also, for those doing character sheets, don't forget to do ortho for the face and for naked characters.
Thanks
~Yeen
